Outlook 2013 (365 Home) Quick Delete "X" Button Missing

One of the features that I like about Outlook 2013 (365 version) is the quick delete "X" button that appears in the list of emails in the inbox when you hover over a particular email. For some reason, I no longer see the "X" when I either hover or select the email. Can you help me restore this functionality?

I may not have noticed it but I now have a new tool bar at the right edge of the screen which contains "respond", "Delete" "Follow Up" and "Move" icons; I don't recall seeing that toolbar before. It doesn't bother me but it may be a clue to why the X is missing from the email list.

Any thoughts as to how to restore the Delete function within the email list will be appreciated

Hi,

Please check if you are using Outlook touch mode.

If so, please switch to Mouse Mode and restart Outlook to check the issue again.

For more information about Outlook Touch Mode, please refer to the following article:

Hope this helps.

Thank you!  I've been trying to figure this one out for months.  This did the trick.

I dont usually make comments on such forums, but I have to in this case. This was driving me MAD! I have a new laptop and couldnt figure out why the ribbons were massive and that my hovering X disappeared. You have restored my sanity, now I can enjoy my weekend!

Cheers

Ok, that explains it! HOWEVER, I'd still like to have the "X" delete option even in Touch mode. The Delete X doesn't seem to be a column that I can add.

Is there any way to get this back and still remain in Touch mode?

Still have the X delete option on a few PC's here in the office with touch mode turned on, and a few it did remove the quick delete.  This is so frustrating!
